RAPID NeuroFascial Reset at Wellness on Whyte

Looking for a different type of massage to help alleviate aches and pains? Give RAPID NeuroFascial Reset a try! At Wellness on Whyte, we’re happy to offer this service. Read on to learn more about what RAPID NeuroFascial Reset is and the different benefits it provides.

What is RAPID NeuroFascial Reset?

RAPID NFR or just RAPID is a type of massage that targets your nervous system, unlike a traditional massage that focuses on muscle knots and tight spots. The intention of RAPID is to help reduce the sensitivity of your nervous system, especially after you have experienced an injury, if you have dealt with repetitive strain or chronic pain, or if your body has experienced a major stressor, like pregnancy or birth.

RAPID is designed to help calm the nervous system after these stressors to resolve the pain and stiffness that often lingers. Ultimately, this technique disrupts dysfunctional neurological patterns and helps set up new, healthy communication pathways between the muscles and tissues experiencing pain and the brain. This addresses the root cause of the problem, not just the symptoms, for lasting and comprehensive results.

RAPID is a lotion-free massage, and you will remain clothed through the massage. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing! Unlike traditional massage, RAPID is also an active, movement-based massage practice, so you will move through specific motions during a session, directed by your RMT.

What does a typical session look like?

Here’s what to expect during a RAPID NFR session:

  1. Your RMT will perform a check of your muscles, fascia, nerves, ligaments, and tendons that are around the area where you’re experiencing pain to determine what’s going on and to establish a treatment plan.

2. Then your RMT will use manual pressure to target specific neurological pathways that control muscle tension and fascial restrictions.

3. While they are applying targeted pressure, you will move through specific movements. It’s a team effort!
